Wiki Wednesday

I am going attempt this. I am not a huge sewer. But my mom does own a quilting shop... so I better get going on that sewing thing!
I attempted to make a blanket today. Now I can sew. I can sew a straight line. I can even thread a sewing machine. And if you have ever tried then you know it is not always easy. But today I attempted minkee. What a disaster! It was so slippery that it slipped right on out from it. Then it was so stretchy and whatever that it kept making it be different sizes. Then I had to put Tear Away on it so it wouldn't slip. Then the Tear Away wouldn't tear away. Then I had to cut it... OY!!! I didn't get to finish it because I had to take Sienna to the doctor because she had an ear infection. But there is always tomorrow!
In other news, I am trying to get Ruby to sleep on her own. As in fall asleep on her own. It is not going so well.

The SUN!!!!

I'm sitting outside!!!! I can't even tell you how happy I am to be outside and enjoying the day. The kids are out side and I am breathing fresh air. Smell it? HA! I am!!! I think all the oxygen is going to my brain. Not that stale old house air. LOVE IT!

I called my friend to ask if she had kicked her kids out too. We decided that we were going to throw a box of cereal out the door and let them in only to hose them down and put them to bed. OK not really. But we had to work really hard to think of reasons not too...

Well, I better get dinner started.......

My very yummy taco lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 envelope taco seasoning
  • 1 can diced tomatoes ( I use homemade canned ones!!!)
  • 24 soft corn tortillas (4 inches)
  • 2 cans (16 ounces) black bean refried beans
  • 3 cups (12 ounces) shredded Mexican cheese blend

Directions

  • In a large skillet, cook the beef, green pepper and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add water and taco seasoning; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 2 minutes. Stir in the black beans and tomatoes. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
  • Mix refried beans with approximately 1/2 cup of water.
  • Place eight tortillas in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Spread with half of the refried beans and beef mixture; sprinkle with 1 cup cheese. Repeat layers. Top with remaining tortillas, tomato mixture and cheese.
  • Cover and bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted. Yield: 9 servings.

I escaped!!!!

I went shopping all by myself! I got groceries. But it is the fact that I got out of the house BY MYSELF! Thank you Randy for catering to me!!!

In other news my eyebrow has been twitching for the last uhhhh.... well.... let's see..... 2 months! I am so not kidding. It is getting on my last nerve. I am sure it is stress. Which is the stem of all my problems. I wish I wasn't so stressed. A lot of people have way more stuff to deal with then me. Oh well...

In other other news, Lanna is a big MOMMIES GIRL!!! She is attached to me. Which I love. Don't get me wrong. But sometimes it really breaks my heart! And sometimes I just want to cook dinner and not have to hold her too! OK, so I really don't do that. But I put her to bed last night and had to leave her in her crib screaming "MOMMY" and grasping me. I almost cried a little. And I don't cry. Well. Usually.

star trek transporter

That is my google word for the day. I posted as my status the other day that I was making taco lasagna. (It was good BTW if anybody cares....:) My cousin how lives a couple states away posted that he would be there at 7 to eat. It was 6:30. So I got to thinking how he would get here if he was. Because really he wasn't serious... And I thought oh yeah what is that one thing that they use in Star Trek? I am not really a Treky or whatever they like to call themselves. But I have been known to watch a few here and there. So I thought why don't we have those? I mean really, we can send a man to the moon and go deep in the ocean. But we don't have a transporter? Can somebody get on that please? I want one!
